Hearing Center of Excellence
HCE provides support to enhance operational performance, mission readiness, and quality of life through collaborative leadership for hearing and balance health. We manage the Joint Hearing Loss and Auditory System Injury Registry which tracks service-related hearing loss and injuries to advance research and improve hearing health.
Joint Trauma System
JTS directly assists each Combatant Command in trauma system planning, treatment, management, and improvement of casualty outcomes.

National Intrepid Center of Excellence
Located at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, NICoE is dedicated to advancing the diagnosis, treatment, and research of traumatic brain injury and associated health conditions, providing comprehensive care and support to service members and their families.
Psychological Health Center of Excellence
PHCoE collaborates across the DOD and with the VA and other agencies to provide leadership and expertise to inform policy and drive improvements in psychological health outcomes.
Traumatic Brain Injury Center of Excellence
TBICoE equips warfighters, their families, and their clinicians with the tools and training to protect, treat, and optimize brain health. Our research on timely TBI topics advances the science and shapes best practices to ensure medical readiness. We also track and analyze first-time TBIs in active duty service members across the DOD, for improved knowledge of brain threats.
Vision Center of Excellence
VCE works to improve vision health, optimize readiness, and enhance quality of life for service members and veterans. We manage the Defense and Veterans Eye Injury and Vision Registry, and partner with federal health care organizations, academic partners, and private sector institutions to develop research priorities and quality care initiatives.
